Why I'm Running
I am running for Sherburne County Auditor to bring strong, principled leadership to our local government. After serving in the U.S. Navy and leading operations in the private sector, I have seen what disciplined leadership and accountability can accomplish.
I believe Sherburne County deserves an Auditor’s Office that protects taxpayer dollars, operates with full transparency, and ensures our elections are secure and fair. I am not a career politician. I am a veteran and business leader who believes we can do better.
I am ready to serve the people of Sherburne County with the same dedication, discipline, and results-oriented approach that has defined my life and to help build a more accountable and trustworthy local government.
Government Transparency & Accountability
Transparency is the foundation of public trust. As your County Auditor, I will ensure that county government operates with openness and clarity. Citizens have a right to know how their tax dollars are being spent and how county operations are being managed.
I will deliver clear, accessible, and timely information on county expenditures, operations, and financial performance. This includes straightforward reports that are easy to find and understand, so you can see exactly where your money is going without needing to navigate complicated systems.
Real accountability means more than just posting documents. It means running a responsive office that answers questions quickly and honestly. I will work to make government information more user-friendly and accessible to the public.
What sets my approach apart is my background. I’ve spent my career outside of government, leading operations in the private sector and the military. I will bring fresh eyes, proven performance systems, and a commitment to collaboration to deliver a higher standard of transparency — not just checking boxes, but earning your trust through genuine openness.
Secure Elections
I believe securing our elections should be one of our highest priorities. Our freedoms begin at the ballot box, and citizens must have full confidence that every legal vote is counted and that every illegal vote is not.
I support the following long-term reforms to strengthen election integrity:
-
Voter ID – Every voter should be required to prove who they are.
-
Proof of Citizenship – Only U.S. citizens should be allowed to vote in our elections.
-
Paper Ballots with Strong Audits – Support hand-marked paper ballots with a clear chain of custody and robust post-election reviews, including risk-limiting audits, to verify results.
-
Clean Voter Rolls – Voter rolls must be accurate and regularly maintained to remove ineligible voters.
While I support these long-term reforms, I am also focused on what I can do right now as County Auditor within current law:
-
Ensure our voter rolls are clean and accurate.
-
Support additional post-election reviews and risk-limiting audits to increase transparency and trust.
-
Give municipalities the option to use paper rosters instead of electronic rosters for greater security.
-
Assign a Sergeant at Arms at early voting centers to maintain order and professionalism.
I am committed to making Sherburne County’s elections among the most secure and transparent in Minnesota. Our citizens deserve an election system they can trust — one that protects the integrity of every vote and strengthens confidence in our democratic process.
Efficient Management & Taxpayer Protection
I believe one of the most important responsibilities of the County Auditor is to ensure that government operates efficiently and that taxpayer dollars are protected and used responsibly.
Efficient government starts with honest evaluation. As your Auditor, I will begin by thoroughly assessing current systems and processes to identify where improvements can be made. From there, we will modernize outdated administrative systems, eliminate waste, and implement smarter, data-driven practices that deliver better results.
Every tax dollar collected in Sherburne County represents the hard work of families and businesses in our community. I am committed to being a strong steward of those resources. This means pushing for greater transparency in spending, identifying opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs, and ensuring that county government delivers quality services without placing an undue burden on taxpayers.
Drawing from my experience leading high-performing teams in the U.S. Navy and managing operations in the private sector, I will bring proven tools for operational excellence and fiscal discipline to the Auditor’s Office. My goal is simple: run an efficient, accountable government that earns the trust of the people it serves.
